Originally created for Helsinki’s Hotel Aulanko in 1935 and reintroduced by GUBI in 2018, the 9602 Floor Lamp exemplifies Paavo Tynell’s mastery of light. A rattan-wrapped stem, polished brass base, and signature conical shade define its graceful silhouette.
In this special edition, GUBI collaborates with the Parisian textile house Maison Pierre Frey, uniting two icons of 20th-century design. The pleated Le Jardin du Palais fabric shade introduces a kaleidoscope of color and a poetic, dappled glow — an ambiance reminiscent of sunlight filtering through leaves. Originally conceived for a Faïencerie de Gien table service, Pierre Frey’s fantastical Persian-inspired landscape teems with gazelles, tigers, squirrels, and herons amid lush flora, bringing warmth, artistry, and storytelling to Tynell’s timeless form.
